How can we use Artificial Intelligence?
Artificial intelligence (AI) is wide-ranging branch of computer science concerned with building smart machines capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. It is all about advancements in machine learning and deep learning.AI systems exhibit actions related to human intelligence like planning, reasoning, problem-solving, knowledge representation, perception, motion, and manipulation and, to a lesser extent, social intelligence and creativity.
One example of Artificial Intelligence we come across every day is the Google Assistant or Siri in the Apple devices. And as at this time, Coronavirus has spread all over the world, the Government of India has launched an application named Aarogya Setu to help spread awareness in the citizens and to identify the symptoms through Artificial Intelligence. So let’s take this trending example of AI and understand what Artificial Intelligence is.
Aarogya Setu is basically the Indian government’s COVID-tracker app. It is helping government in identifying, and also raised one’s alert level if one was in contact or near the areas of someone who had been tested Covid-19 positive. The high-powered committee is led by Niti Aayog. Chief Executive, Amitabh Kant, has recommended extended and expanded use of Aarogya Setu even after the lockdown to monitor and control the spread of diseases.
The app allows you to self-access the symptoms if you have any by asking you a set of questions and by answering back. The question-answer process is Artificial Intelligence. Another point to be noted is that the app notifies you if there are any newly diagnosed Coronavirus positive patients. The app instructs you what steps to take next if you have crossed paths with a COVID-19 positive person. The data is only shared with the government without disclosing any personal details. The calculation of the feedback and self-assessment is done through Artificial Intelligence, Bluetooth technology, and algorithms.
The government assigns a unique identifier to each phone that is registered. When two registered phones are near each other, they exchange unique identifiers, which are stored on the government servers. If a person is found to be infected with the novel coronavirus, all the people they were near in the past, as identified through their unique ids generated by Aarogya Setu, are notified. And all this is the magic of Artificial Intelligence. This is how Artificial Intelligence helps us in every field, be it IT, economics, or even robotics. Tell us what other fields you wish to know about and we’ll surely get back to you with the information.
